How to Make Easy WoW Gold For Your First Mount

As a young Alliance Mage of Stormwind in my early levels, I envied the more experienced players around me with their mounts and epic mounts. I longed for the time when I could ride - instead of run - into battle against the Horde and Scourge, but struggled to make enough wow gold to pay for my bar bill in the Pig and Whistle (Stormwind).

While Blizzard have lowered the level at which you can buy your first mount - from level 40 to level 30 - many players still struggle to make enough wow gold quickly and easily enough to afford the cost before they reach this threshold level.

And it's important that you get your mount as early as possible. You'll not only level faster (you'll waste less time getting from A to B), you'll make gold more easily (cover a larger playing area, faster when gathering or grinding).

Here are a few tips that will help make easy wow gold and get you your first mount:

Learn A Gathering Profession

It's important that you learn at least one gathering profession (Mining, Herbalism and Skinning). I always recommend a crafting profession (Blacksmithing, Alchemy etc) to complement the gathering profession as it will balance your game and give you a more enjoyable playing experience - which is why we are all here in the first place. Once you have your chosen profession then gather, gather gather!

Buy Big Bags

The Horde have a saying: ' Da bigger da bags da better'. You'll be able to gather more and waste less time running back and forth to the Auction House having to sell your loot. I've written a whole guide just on bags! Follow the link below to check it out.

Learn The Auction House

You must learn how to use the Auction House. This is where you will make easy wow gold. Always auction your loot from gathering. It will fetch you vastly more gold than selling to a vendor. Make sure you check the Auction House prices before you sell your loot and always set a buyout price as well as a bid price. Again, I've a whole guide on this just follow the link below.

Grind With A Purpose

It's alway best to grind with a purpose as part of a quest. You'll level faster that way. But you should always be on the look out for loot. Grinding at this low level won't make you much gold, but you should become familiar with those mats that sell well on the Auction House for much gold. An example is Cloth and Meat. I've written a whole guide on just making gold from farming Meat in World of Warcraft. See the link below.

Follow these simple tips and you'll earn gold fast in wow. If you think you need a little more help I also recommend several good gold making guides - just follow the links below.

Makeover Games - Finding That Hidden Sense of Style

Spending one's time in the make-believe world with dolls is something children practically do the world over, and throughout the centuries. Indeed, every lady can look back to a time when hours were spent playing dress up, sewing clothes and getting accessories to complete the doll's costume. Right up to now, little girls still are very much in their element looking for dolls and playing hours making an imaginary world for them. But now our new internet world enables children (after mom's permission) to dress your dolls anyway you want and absolutely minus all hassles related to stitching the clothes, finding matching shoes, handbags, earrings, and the like. Many websites in fact are put up with the sole intention of being a game site for makeover game fans.

With the leapfrogs of Internet technology at our fingertips, coupled with ever-faster Web connections, many rich-content websites are now accessible more than ever, including those enabled to help you maximize your makeover game experience. At the minimum, all you will need is the website's web address, a desktop PC or laptop and a good internet line, like one from a broadband connection. These makeover games do give children a diversion but thankfully frees up a lot of hassle that otherwise could have buried the parent. A smile is sure to light up your kid's face today via some online makeover games which are all over the web nowadays.

Now what are best reasons to let your child surf some makeover games as a special reward or treat from time to time? Through these sites, children get to show and practice any latent artistic and creative talent. When the child starts making her own experiments on color coordination and matching, you will get to see the first impressions of what are his or her conceptual ideas and imagination on beauty and fashion. Make a careful note that children cannot possibly reason at our level so they will do a makeover at their own terms. So in their case, sorting through color coordination, accessories and costumes will happen their own way. Bratz makeover games, for one, may just do the trick in helping to hone your child's imagination and conceptualization, while learning a thing or two about dressing do's and don'ts along the way.

For the older teens out there, Bratz games online are storehouses and archives (if you will) that hold everything a fashionista will want to check out. A few clicks of the mouse brings you to a view of how your Bratz look like according to your own fashion taste and style. Imagine too what could be a better way to cap your day of doing job assignments or an exam well than to play a hard-earned round of Bratz makeover games. Aside from giving yourself an inexpensive yet stimulating reward or treat, you are able to get a few pointers, too, in the wide field of fusing taste and functionality when it comes to fashion and taste, kudos to Bratz makeover games.

Making Games With International Appeal - The Importance of Localization

often fail to include localization of the game. Major game portals recognize the importance of making their web sites more accessible so they often have multiple language settings and this is something game developers should learn from from. Web games often rely on word of mouth distribution so why not increase your chances of success by localizing the game to reach a broader international audience.

Recognizing the importance of this extra step of work that could help increase your web games international appeal is something many game developers should take to heart. If you plan properly for this step ahead of time, it is a fairly inexpensive and easy step to add to any game you develop. Localization can seem like a daunting task but I will outline some helpful tips for any game developer to easily add this feature and hopefully increase their international player base.

Upon visiting some of the more prominent game portals you will notice you usually have a language setting that you can set the language of the web page. Unfortunately many of the games they offer do not allow this same choice once you are actually playing the game which could be potentially a turn off for any prospective gamers. Frustrating the player by not having something as simple as menu text or buttons is something that should be avoided at all costs.

Why would this extra work be important if you can't even speak or write the language you are localizing the game? I will break this down into two parts. One part is understanding the importance of potential new users from emerging gamer markets such as Latin America and European countries such as Poland. The other part is realizing it is unrealistic to do the localization yourself but rather how to inexpensively outsource the localization work to companies that specialize in those areas.

The importance of the Latin American market for example is immense. Some statistics just for South America (not including Mexico) puts the connected Internet uses at over 104 million users or a 27.1% penetration rate vs their total population rate. Of these Internet users, only 12.3 million users have broadband connections which is a 3.3% penetration rate vs their total connected user base. Another encouraging number is the predicted growth of Mexico's Internet population is set to hit almost 40 million users by 2011(Via Emarketer.com).

What we can learn from this is there is a huge Internet ready population just south of North America and if you can develop compact and interesting web games that are translated into these languages your chances of your web games achieving success increases greatly.

Recently Sony has made huge strides in order to capitalize on the potential market for their hardware and games. Split into three phases they aim to capitalize on the appetite of gamers eager to play games localized and marketed towards them. It is a safe bet that if a large company like Sony plans to address this audience, you as an smaller game developer, should take notice as well.

So as a web game developer you understand the importance and potential of this market but where do you start? You might not have the capital to spend thousands of dollars on this aspect of your game development or the time to invest. The good news is if you plan accordingly you can do a localization of one language of your game for around 20-80 dollars.

The first part of doing this is to make sure before hand all the important text information of your game is accessible in one file that you can easily paste into an email or text file. Avoid duplicates and shorten up any instructional text to avoid any unnecessary text as most localization services charge per word. Only include the most important and integral parts of the game instructions or menus in this file. One thing to also avoid doing is putting any text directly in the 2d button art or menus as you won't be able to change that in a localization pass. Instead, make a blank button and overlay 2d programmable text over the buttons.

Then take the text you have extracted from your game and use an inexpensive but quality translation website such as TranslationBooth.com. You have the option to save more money by not using the most expensive option available and they do a great job. Once you have prepared your game in this format, it makes it fairly simple to reuse in any future game projects you develop so it is definitely worth the investment.

Hopefully this has given any game developers creating their own games some insight on the importance and relative ease of localization if properly planned for before hand. It is important not to be intimidated with this aspect of game development. Remember the more accessible your game is the better chance it has of being the next big thing on the Internet!

Eldar Tactics

Gone are the 4th edition days of fielding two minimal Guardian jetbike squads. A general with sound Eldar Tactics knows troops are vitally important under the new 5th edition rule set. For a typical 1500 point game, I believe three or four units of troops is the optimal choice. You could of course take minimal troops and go for the automatic 'wipe out' win. Here's a brief outline of the Eldar Troop Tactics I use.

Dire Avengers:

Dire Avengers are the unit of choice for most Eldar armies in fifth edition. They fit in with all types of Eldar Tactics, as they function well on foot and in transports. Dire Avengers are a fantastic close range unit, pumping out a high volume of very accurate firepower. GEQs crumble to massed Dire Avenger firepower. Against MEQ's it likely you'll need to tie the shooting in with a successful Doom. Dire Avengers are best fielded in units of 10, this raises there ranged effectiveness and gives you a greater chance of holding up the enemy during assaults. Precision strikes are the key to successful Dire Avenger Tactics. Get into position as quickly as possible strike fast, strike hard.

Defender Guardians:

Eldar tacticians tend to fall into two trains of thought regarding Guardians - those that love them and those that loath them. Guardians have access to a move and fire heavy weapon, making them useful in support of assault units blasting Shurikan Cannon or Scatter Laser, or sitting back on the gun-line sniping vehicles with Brightlances or Eldar Missile Launchers. This opens up a whole host of varying Eldar Tactics.

Storm Guardians:

Regular Guardians are the close assault Guardians of the Eldar list. They must get up close and personal to be effective and make an ideal support unit when used in conjunction with an Avatar or specialist assault Aspect Warriors. Do not expect them to win you the game alone! Their lack of grenades of any kind is a huge tactical weakness. Flamers are very useful if you are going up against GEQs. Fusion Guns can be useful for killing MEQ's or knocking a tank out, but I wouldn't rely on it. The Eldar list has better options for Marine and vehicle hunting. The Warlock is an essential upgrade for Storm Guardians. He gives them additional close combat bite and an extremely useful psychic ability. Destructor, Enhance, Embolden or to a lesser extent conceal.

Guardian Jetbikes:

Guardian jetbikes are excellent fast moving objective claimers under the 5th edition rule set. They have a solid rate of fire provided by their 1 in 3 Shurikan Cannon ratio and benefit from moving in the assault phase for hit and run style attacks. In spite of their obvious advantages Jetbikes are very fragile and will be picked off if left in the open. Tactically I find them best as a mobile reserve or wide out on the flanks harassing the edge of the enemies force where their low range and assault phase movement can best be utilised.

Rangers/Pathfinders:

Rangers, who can be upgraded to Pathfinders make for excellent objective holders. I rarely leave home without a unit. They're weak in assault though so it's a sound tactic to keep a counter assault unit nearby to help defend or deter assault units. They specialise in taking down high toughness models from afar, so if you are up against Tyranids, you'll find these guys extremely effective. Pinning is another benefit of the sniper rifle. Don't rely on it heavily though, a large portion of the units you encounter on the battlefield have high leadership. Whether or not to upgrade to Pathfinders is a difficult decision, I personally think the upgrade is worth it. The additional AP1 chance and additional cover save means you only have to kill one or two more marines or pass an extra save to make make your points back.

That concludes the Troops portion of the Eldar Tactics Guide.

Why Did I Use a LOTRO Gold Making Guide

With the recent release of Mines of Moria I started wondering what would be the newest best farming spots in LOTRO. Since every new game or expansion comes along with its series of bugs, I started digging for news about the existent bugs, or if there were any. Browsing the Internet I came across a nice LOTRO gold making guide, which wasn't exactly what I was looking for but I decided to take a closer look.

The guide was extremly simple to use, with a nice system of maps and screenshots showing the exact locations of mobs and places where you need to go. It also has detailed information about the mobs that you need to kill and what items are worthy to keep and sell at the Auction Hall. Most important, this LOTRO gold making guide has a consistent volume of very useful tips about what to do and what not to do while farming. What I like the most about this LOTRO gold making guide is that it shows you how to get easy gold without having any crafting professions or gathering skills which I always found very boring to level up.

After I started using the guide I didn't expect to get the same amount of gold at one of the spots presented, inside the Mines of Moria. After about an hour at this spot I got loot up to a total value of 8g and some silver. This wasn't bad at all and it really changed my mind about searching for bugs or exploits. Why risk the safety of my account and all the hard work on the leveling of my characters?

Making use of this great LOTRO Gold Making Guide brought me about 110g after just a week, playing only a few hours a day and at the end of the week I was very happy to get my first Legendary Second Age Axe which I wanted for the price of 90g. Second Age Axes are pretty rare on my server, but having this guide with me, 90g seem quite a bargain.

Ever since I've been using this excellent LOTRO Gold Making Guide all my gear issues were solved and now I even have more time to spend in high end game content.

Looking For XBOX 360 Repair Options? Here Are Your Options

If you're looking at this, your worst nightmares must have come true - you're looking at a broken Xbox. It may have been fine, then suddenly you saw that green ring of light turn red.

Now, of course, you'd like to know if there's a way for you to fix your Xbox 360.

Up until now, if you were someone who wanted to repair your Xbox 360 on your own, the methods available were often strange and unreliable.

For instance, you may have heard about the towel trick. If you haven't, don't try it on your console.

That's because the towel trick - wrapping your Xbox 360 in a towel - isn't reliable, and it's much more likely to set the machine on fire than it is to make anything better. This isn't a good fix.

In fact, it's just another myth on the Internet.

Another solution that's almost a myth is that you can open your Xbox 360's case and fix the problem using a soldering iron. This suggestion's been floating around the net for a while, but it's a bad one. After all, unless you're a trained technician, you shouldn't mess with an important, complicated piece of technology like your Xbox 360. You could break things and you'll be voiding the warranty.

So what's left?

Another option available to you is following advice from Microsoft. They'd like you to send your Xbox 360 back for a professional repair. It's true that a repair by the pros will work the best, but if your warranty's expired, you'll be paying a hundred forty dollars, plus shipping. Then, you'll have to wait six to eight weeks to see your console again! That's a lot of time and could cost you a lot of money.

Even if you still have a valid warranty and can skip the repair charge, remember that you'll have to pay shipping. Plus, you'll still need to securely package your Xbox 360 for its trip back to Microsoft, and there's no way out of having to deal with that two month wait.

This is clearly a big hassle. None of us want to wait this long, and it costs an awful lot, too.

Is there a better option? Well, if you don't want to deal with the expense and wait, you can look for a reliable repair guide for your console. It's not impossible to fix an Xbox, but you do have to know what you're doing! The Internet is full of bad information, so find a source you really trust.

You can fix your Xbox at home, solving the problem and keeping you from having to give up your system and spend a lot of money. That's a great solution.

If you're wondering how to repair Xbox 360 take comfort in knowing that's it not complicated as long as you know the steps to follow.

Xbox 360 Troubleshooting For Beginners

There are a variety of different problems and errors which can affect your Xbox 360 console- all of them frustrating and often difficult to deal with. In this article, you will find a basic guide to Xbox 360 troubleshooting, to help you get back to gaming as quickly and as cheaply as possible. Don't put up with living with a broken Xbox 360- keep reading to learn how to banish common errors such as the red ring of death, e73 and e74 error codes, no video problems and more.

When it comes to Xbox 360 troubleshooting, the most common error that has to be dealt with is the red ring of death. This is characterized by a ring of flashing red lights on the front of your console. The cause of this problem is overheating damaging your console's graphics card, preventing proper display of video and normal function of your Xbox 360. There is no simple one step fix for the red ring of death- you will have to open up your console and repair the damage. Later in this article I will cover how you can get video repair instructions for doing this.

The e73 and e74 errors are also caused by overheating. However, this time the heat causes damage to the video scaler chip and motherboard, resulting in a system failure error. Unfortunately, this means that you can only fix these fairly common problems by taking your console to pieces, repairing the damage and removing any debris left over, then reassembling your Xbox 360.

No video errors can be much easier when it comes to Xbox 360 troubleshooting. Often, you may have a faulty video cable (be it high-definition or normal VGA connection) Try borrowing one off of a friend, or see if your local video game rental store will let you hire one on the cheap. However, if this does not work, then once again your Xbox 360 will be suffering from a problem that requires more serious attention, as in opening up your console.

As you can probably already gather, most Xbox 360 errors will require you to open up your console and carry out a repair job for any troubleshooting to be able to take place. The problem here is that written instructions simply aren't detailed enough- you need high quality video instruction to be able to repair your console.

The best way to get these video instructions is to purchase an Xbox 360 repair guide, which will contain all of the information you will need to be able to fix your console, regardless of what problem has affected it. You can get one of these online, and the fact that they come in digital download format means it won't cost you more than the price of a couple of bargain bin games.

Xbox 360 3 Red Light Fix - Get Rid of Red Rings of Death Error

Xbox 360 is a product of Microsoft introduced in the year 2005 for video game freaks. Microsoft, though well known for its PC games, thought of developing a specialized hardware for its games that supports the console well. They were very keen on the aspect that the hardware should be equivalent to that of a PC. Many found difficulty in playing game in PC due to the keyboard controls and also due to poor graphics as many will be playing without a graphic card. Thus, lead to the development of Xbox. The console runs on a high speed and advanced graphic processor that makes the gaming very fast and with a crystal clear display.

RED LIGHT PROBLEMS

When your console is in a problem, then the lights in the power ring will glow in red color. Problems are of different types. For each problem, the light will be blinking in the various quadrants. For example, when the console is overheated then there will be one red light error. Similarly, when the AV cable has not been fixed properly then there will be two red lights glowing. The most common problem occurring now is the 3 red light error. When this occurs then you will see an error like e74. This is the worst error in the console that will spoil the whole gadget. The main reason for this problem is that the console is overheated by inadequate air flow. When this error exists for long time, your console will be totally damaged and the whole hardware goes waste.

REPARING METHODS

If you have noticed the error and have taken the necessary actions then there is a possibility of saving the console from damage. One possibility is to send the console to Microsoft service station. But, only the console that comes under the warranty is serviced at free of cost. For others you need to spend more than $150.

Most console owners are trying to repair their console on their own. Each of them follows a different method. Few say that when you rap the console with a towel then the heat inside gets increased and that is made to solder the chips that have lightly edged. But, hardware experts say performing such kind of repairing may sometime damage the motherboard.

Many have now taken the help of online guide available. These guides come with a video tutorial that explains how to open and repair the parts. The videos clearly explain how to proceed and solve the problems. There are number of guides available and only few comes with video tutorials. So, you need to carefully choose the guide. This method is very cost effective when comparing with the service center cost. Also they don't need any sophisticated tools to repair. Moreover you can repair your console in just one hour and start playing the games again.

Xbox 360 3 Red Light Fix - Remove the X-Clamps to Get Rid of Red Rings of Death Error.

There are several gaming consoles in the market and one of the most popular console is the Microsoft's Xbox 360. The video gaming pattern has been changed entirely with the help of new technology. Features like graphics, processing speed and storage space for the entire game also increased now. Now these console are challenging the PC games, as the consoles hardware are equal to the motherboard of a computer. The console comes with a CD drive, so that whenever a new game is introduced, you can install them into your console. Xbox 360 is a Microsoft product and many thought that all the games developed by Microsoft will very well run on this console. The reason for this hype is that Microsoft has written the software for the hardware components so that the console will very well support the game without any display error.

ERRORS IN XBOX 360

We know that the errors are those which will inform the user about the problems with the software in case of computer. Similarly, the Xbox 360 shows various errors to the gamers. But, the errors are not often, occurs only when there is a problem. In case of Xbox 360 certain type of error called the e74 which is occurring very often in most of the consoles around the world. This error was reported by many Xbox users around the world. Microsoft enquired about this error, and it was found to be the hardware problem. This is due to the overheating of the components and thus causing them to fail.

REASON

The reason for the overheating is due to ventilation failure within the console. The graphical processing unit (GUI) and the central processing unit (CPU) in the motherboard are placed in the center below which there are two "X" clamps. The cooling is done by the heat sink which absorbs the heat generated. Furthermore, a fan is provided to cool the processors. Microsoft has stated that, heating is due to large power consumption by the cooling fans. The CD drive also blocks the sir flow to these processors by the side hence adequate cooling is not provided to the GUI hence the error e74 is displayed in the screen. Errors can occur due to lose connection of the AV cable. The various errors are indicated by the console by a blinking red light in the power ring.

RED LIGHT ERROR SOLUTIONS

The graphical error e74 is indicated by 3 red lights. This error is commonly referred as RED RING OF DEATHS by gamers. Though the console can be serviced in service centers, but they are very costly and you have to wait for 4 weeks to 8 weeks to get them back. There is simple method to repair. You can repair the console at your own, if you had a digital guide which comes with video tutorials showing step by step videos. The video will mainly focus on removing the claps from the motherboard, so that enough space is created and cooling the GUI is possible.

Avoid keeping the console in a very close environment. Try to place them in open space so that enough air flows into the console and cools the processors.

Video Game Systems - What is the Next System You Should Buy?

When you are looking to purchase video games systems, one thing that you should think about is what you want to use the system for. There are three primary systems you will probably look into buying: the Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360, and the Sony Playstation 3.

Microsoft Xbox is the first of the video games systems to be talked about in this article. One of the greatest benefits with Xbox is the online gaming. No matter what game you are playing, the way to connect is the same. Some people feel that this is more a system for older people since it can be hard to find a wide variety of games which are suitable for the entire family. It has also has large hard drive so that you can store a great deal of information on here besides simply playing games.

The Sony Playstation 3 is the second of the video games systems. If you are shopping all three systems, this will probably top the price list. It has a Blue Ray so that you can play high definition DVDs. The graphics for this system are amazing. There are not as many games for this particular system as there are for other video games systems. Some PS1 and PS2 games cannot be played on the Playstation 3 because of a lack of backwards compatibility. This system has a great potential for the future because of some of its features so you can look at this purchase as good for the present and potentially great for the future.

If you like to be active instead of sitting and playing video games, you should look into a Wii. With the Wii Fit, you are able to be active. The controller is motion-sensitive so you have to get your body involved to enjoy this. This normally is the least expensive of the three different consoles mentioned in this article. One of the great benefits to this particular system is that it is so simple to use that anyone should be able to pick up a controller and enjoy it. You can even download old games that Nintendo has had for its other gaming systems. There are many more family friendly games if you want a system to appeal to everyone in your family.

Hopefully these different thoughts can give you an idea what of the three different video games systems you may want to buy. One system is not necessarily better than the other but it is about you finding the system that is right for you. That will lead to the great enjoyment and fun on your part.

Xbox 360 3 Red Light Error - Fix the Red Rings of Death Error by Removing the X-Clamps

Xbox 360 is a gaming console developed by Microsoft and the hardware of this console runs on software's written by Microsoft. The whole concept and design came in short period of time as Microsoft was very much keen on releasing the product before the Christmas eve and also had the idea of exhibiting it in the electronics shows which was planned to be held in Los Vegas. Xbox 360 created a great hype around gaming fans around the world. One of the key aspect is that, it came out with a inbuilt graphical processing unit (GUI) specially designed by Nvidia.

OVERHEATING PROBLEM

Xbox 360 after its introduction was frequently reported with overheating problems. The overheating of the console caused the graphical processing unit to fail. The heat sink which is considered to be found below the CD drive is very small when compared to the large amount of heat generated by the console. As the heat inside is prevailed for a long time it results in cracking of soldering joints of the GUI from the motherboard. This problems lead to the blinking of the red light in the power rings. The most common red light errors is the 3 red light error or famously known among game lovers as "Red Ring of Death".

METHODS TO SOLVE

There are various methods to solve the red light errors. One method is by sending the console to Microsoft service centers. But, the main drawback is that only those comes under the warranty is serviced at free of cost. For those warranty expired, you have to spend around $140. It doesn't stops there; you should also take care of the shipping charges.

Other method is by wrapping a towel around your console so that the console gets heated very well. So that, the clipped soldering joints are molded well in the heat and gets fixed. This method is ok if the problem is in the joints. But, this may sometime cause your processors to get damage because of overheat developed.

SIMPLEST METHOD

You can repair your console by your own with the help of a ebook and a video guide. One of the disadvantages in sending the console to Microsoft service centers is that you have to wait till it gets ready and usually it takes around four or eight weeks time. But, when you are repairing on your own then you can able to complete within few hours.

The red ring solution guides that you have purchased from the online come with video tutorial which explain you how to repair the console by a step-by-step procedure. Most guides will be showing only the removal of the X shaped clamp beneath processors as result the heat generated is directly send to the heat sink. This makes sure that a cooling is provided to the GUI. Hence, when you restart the console then you will see that the lights will be blinking in green. For doing this, you don't need any sophisticated gadgets and can do this work with a simple screwdriver. Your console will be ready within few hours and you are ready to play now.

Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Or Wii

People are always asking me. Should I get a Xbox 360, Playstation 3, or a Nintendo Wii? There are quite a few things that you need to ask yourself before you make a purchase. How much are you looking to spend and who will be playing with the system and what age are they.

Let's get started with cost. Right now the Xbox 360 has several different console packages that you can go with ranging starting at $199. This is a great price for such a powerful system considering it started at about $299 when it came out in 2006. Most of the Xbox 360 games will run you about $49-$59 for new releases and $19-$39 for used games.

Nintendo Wii will run you about $249 for the bundle. Keep in mind with the Wii that there are so many accessories with the system, you might find yourself buying extras later such as gold clubs, tennis rackets, and more. That will probably push your price up to around $300 for the average buyer. Games are a bit cheaper and run from $19.99 for the basic games and up to $49.99 for the best big name games.

The Playstation 3 is the most expensive at the current time, but with a built in blu-ray player, it might be worth it for those who have a HDTV and want the full movie experience. The PS3 will run you $399 to get going and the games will set you back $59 for the best new titles.

The Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 have very similar game titles as many of the same games are published on both systems. If you are into high-definition graphics, high quality sound, and the most visual appealing games, you might want to consider both the Xbox 360 and PS3. If you want to play your games online with your friends, the Xbox Live system is considered the best for usability and consistency. The PS3 Home online system is good as well but the Xbox 360 online platform is the best available right now.

These two systems are for the more advanced, "hardcore" gamer that is typically a bit older from age 18-40. The Nintendo Wii is a great console for kids and party scenarios. The graphics are not as good and the system is not as powerful as the Xbox 360 and PS3, but the gameplay can draw a lot more of the population into the gaming community. Even with out the powerful graphics, the Nintendo Wii is the most popular console around because of it's diverse community and it's revolutionary game play and controls. The Wii is a great console for kids age 5-16 and for the average gamer that isn't into the hardcore scene.

Each system has it's own pluses and minuses, so really take a look at how you are going to use the system and who will be playing it and make your decision from there.

Happy Gaming!

Top Strategies to Master DOTA

Defence of the Ancients is a very popular map in Warcraft III; almost an obsession with some players, probably due to the constant changes; each new version gains fame and followers. It is not surprising therefore, that DOTA tactics and strategy tips are populating the Web these days. Hero building is the prime focus; heroes acquire abilities and strength through purchases with gold, so acquiring gold becomes the prime objective. DOTA Heroes gain gold by killing or destroying enemy assets or personnel, in particular by killing creeps. Experience is relatively easy to acquire but gaining gold is more complex. Waiting for the health of an enemy to decrease or cast a spell will help. The last hit gains the gold so timing is crucial! Spells that deal multiple damage can gain several creep kills at one time.

Start by finding what type of hero you have: Strength, Intelligence, or Agility. Buy items that will boost these skills. A useful first item is Boots of Speed, which will give increased speed to attack or withdraw. Rings of regeneration, sapphire waters, ironwood branches and circlets of nobility are also useful. Some items combine to form recipes, and may not cost gold to obtain.

Getting the best from your hero means understanding their attributes and limitations. As you progress, you will need to increase your knowledge of the characters and their attributes to maintain your mastery of the game. Aim to maximize damage, employ optimum survival tactics, seek to avoid unnecessary deaths and limit damage as much as possible. All these small incidents add up, and reduce your health and gold little by little.

Buy health potions to save returns to base. Make enemy heroes return to base to heal, it wastes time. Various sites and forums will show you ways to increase gold and acquire abilities; do not overlook damage limitation!

At first you will be killed in relatively few hits, so will need the aid of your creeps. As you improve, you will develop your abilities and be able to destroy a tower alone without much harm to yourself. Eventually you will find yourself destroying towers with ease.

Knowledge is the key to DOTA; the more you know, the better armed you are; to learn more on gaining advantages over your opponents, visit http://dota-top-strategies.blogspot.com/

Aion and Botters (MMORPG)

The EU and NA Aion fans are concerned about how NCSoft will manage the botting issue with this game. Honestly I am concerned about this too. It took them about a couple of years to seriously take into consideration this problem and REALLY do something about it. I just hope that if they'll treat this matter from the beginning things won't get bad.

Ayase (Aion community coordinator) assured the fans that they will do anything they can in order to prevent botting in Aion from the beginning. Bots and gold sellers/buyers are a serious problem in MMO games, and most of you guys know it from your own experience. NCSoft didn't even made public the punishments for using 3rd party software that automates gameplay(a.k.a. bots), something like IP Ban or even better MAC Adress ban because this one is harder to change in case you get banned, but the best would be to ban their game account with no refunds.

NCSoft does not have a specialized team of developers whose purpose would be to ensure the client/server security issues and bot/hack prevention. The main game developers will be the ones will be doing game development and securing the client/server against bots/hacking. Too many things on their hands if you ask me, and this may result in poor client/server security or poor game development or the worst case scenario, both game development and security issues.

I just hope they learned from mistakes they did in the past (with L2), and won't allow bot trains to dominate the servers once more.

The Forgotten Demographic - How Female Gamers Can Make Your Games a Success

Rarely do you walk into a video game store and see many game titles catered exclusively for the female game audience. There is virtually no big box support for such titles as they spend millions of dollars catering exclusively to male audiences. After all, conventional wisdom would suggest that since only games for males are being made, that only males are interested in playing video games. This couldn't be further from the truth, a fact often overlooked by larger game publishing companies such as EA, Activision or Take-Two. The statistics alone disprove the notion that girls are not interested in spending time playing video games. The Sims is the best selling game of all time and a large amount of its success can be attributed to its loyal female fan base. 40% of all girls in Australia that participated in a survey admitted to spending time online playing video games as well. This is a global trend that as more game enabled devices are available, so does the potential audience for your products. From personal experience I can attest to the power of focusing on the female gamer audience and the amount of success it can bring to your game portals. Hopefully this article can shed some light on what you can do to acknowledge the female audience and entice them to use your product.

Understand Your Audience

This would be common sense regardless of any type of video game or interactive content you would develop but due to the lack of exclusively developed girl titles how would you go about starting? The answer isn't necessary waiting on a shelf of a game retail store but rather online on a games website or games portal.

Depending on the age range of the female audience you will find some games more popular than others. These games usually have simple and easy to learn game play factors that most professional game developers would consider basic or even in some cases downright primitive. Don't be fooled by this or dismiss this fact. Its a mistake that many game developers make and hold against working on such games that would otherwise be something the female audience would be interested in.

One of the most popular games website with young girls would be StarDoll.com which is essentially a online paper doll website. Moving various clothing items on a 2d doll is a very simple thing to develop if you have any professional game experience. It is this very simple game mechanic combined with variety of various current celebrities and other incentives that encourage millions of users to return every day to that website.

Dress up games are some of the most popular games with girls with thousands of web game portals devoted exclusively to this genre of game. Other game categories that are popular with female gamers include pet games, makeover games, cooking games and room makeover games. Some of the most popular games with girls may have combined elements of these game categories providing an even more compelling game experience. Almost all of the games popular with the female audience would be categorized under Casual Games.

Doing your homework on what works out there currently on the Internet will help you understand an audience that might be decades younger than you personally and completely different than your own personal preferences for games. It is a challenge you must embark upon to fully capitalize on this market segment and achieve success.

The Online Factor

One of the game categories not mentioned previously are quickly becoming the most popular. Online worlds provide an experience where they can socialize and meet new friends. Important game elements of online worlds would include; the ability to have avatar customization, personalize user rooms and the ability to chat and meet new friends. Some examples would be Club Penguin, Habbo Hotel, There.com and IMVU.

Major companies are taking notice of the immense popularity of online worlds with the female audiences and now feature many similar game elements. The key for anyone looking to compete in this field is to come up with a compelling game mechanic that entices this key demographic of female users.

This type of game might be out of the reach of many small time developers but any game starts modestly so this might be a long term goal for you to reach. Never discount any game idea entirely especially as it can help you in developing some uniqueness. Sometimes combining existing game ideas in a online setting can help set it apart from what is available currently.

Making It Unique

Regardless of the size or scope of your game websites, an important aspect to realize is that uniqueness will help stand you apart from the competition in a very crowded market. My games portal for example specializes in browser based online worlds which require no registration. The benefit of this is you can immediately introduce your user to your game product without having them register or download anything. Consider introducing a unique element such as this into your game or website and you will of taken the first step to capturing some the fastest growing gamer demographic out there.

Utilize The Female Gamer Demographic

Accepting and embracing the fact that your games website caters to female gamers is a very important and strategic move that should be planned for in any games portal website. The market share is so large that the chance you will find success and as an independent developer raises if you do so. This is not the first choice for most professional game developers but I am one hundred percent certain this is the right direction to take a small games website if you want to attract a larger audience. The games you make don't always have to be exclusively made for a female audience but I think they deserve some consideration.

Hopefully this has shed some interesting light on the often neglected market demographic of female gamers and brings about some success in your endeavors.

Why is Bumper Pool Table Game So Much Fun to Play?

The game of bumper pool is a lot of fun to play. It combines some aspects of the game of pool, with the competition of a game such as football. In bumper pool you are trying to hit your colored balls into the scoring hole on your opponent's side of the table before your opponent hits all of his balls into the hole on your side of the table. Shooting your own ball into the hole on your opponent's side of the table can be considered similar to playing offense in football.

Sometimes though, you don't have a good angle to shoot your ball into a hole. When this happens, it's best to use your ball to deflect any of your opponent's balls that are set up for an easy shot into the hole he wants to shoot them into. This is why bumper pool is so much fun to play. Even when you don't have a chance to make an easy shot, you can try to frustrate your opponent by making his shot more difficult as well.

The game of bumper pool can be played as a game between two individuals. Bumper pool can be even more fun to play though when playing with teams of two players on each team. In a team game of bumper pool, players on the same team alternate turns when it is their teams turn to take a shot in bumper pool. You can even make your own rules with bumper pool to turn it into either a gambling game. That is one of the reasons why I feel that bumper pool is so much fun to play.

Racing Simulators - Why Are They Never Just Right?

Every once in a while a daring company decided to make a video game simulating some sort of activity. This is often a risk because you can expect only that small crowd that loves that sport enough to actually want to go out a video game based on it. So that when they go home tired from doing that same activity, they can keep playing it on their favorite console or PC. Racing games is one these categories, although more often confused a racing simulator is not the same a racing arcade game.

There difference being mostly the difficulty curve. A racing simulator is not a game you can simply jump onto and go. At least not without some serious prior knowledge of cars and how to drive a proper race car. The way a car handles in say "Cruisin' USA" is not the same way a car will handle in "GTR-2" because GTR-2 is racing simulator so if you try to take that corner while you slam on the brakes expect to lock your wheels and slam onto the wall. That's not to say racing simulators are without flaws. I have yet to come by a "perfect" racing simulator, there is always something wrong with them. The best one by far in my opinion is GTR-2 but even then, the collision and damage physics are simply too forgiving.

Too many times have I crashed onto another car doing well over 100mph only to see them receive a small dent and only once did I crash onto a wall and my car caught fire and that was only because I was going over 270mph. Other games such as Gran Turismo and Forza Motosport 1 & 2 are great, but border on the the Arcade category as by default they are extremely easy to play. That's not to say you can't go into the menu screen and kick up the difficulty by turning off ABS, TCS & STM but even then Gran Turismo offers no damage physics so there goes that and Forza has a dumb AI so there is no challenge to be had. The latest Gran Turismo looks promising and I am almost done installing GTR-Evolution. The latest followup release to the GTR series which looks very promising. You can be sure to look forward to my article about GTR-Evolution.

Classic Gaming - Kaboom! The Quest For 10,000 Points

One of my fondest video game memories is the Activision classic Kaboom! for the Atari 2600. Back in the days when the simple appeal of repetitive, score driven gaming could hold your interest for hours on end this was the top shelf for a pre-teen like myself.

Current younger gamers may have some exposure to the game either through various Activision collections on current or recent gen consoles or through Atari 2600 emulators but there is a major difference between these versions and the original. That would be the controls.

Back in the Atari 2600 days there were various controllers for the system and each game required that you use the proper ones. The vast majority used either the tried and true joystick controller or the Atari Paddle controllers. With today's generation of consoles there's no acceptable approximation for the paddle controller. A simple box with a round spinning wheel that gave you "stop-on-a-dime" precision for games that required them. The nearest you could get to the experience today would be an arcade trackball. Kaboom! was the ultimate paddle controller game. It was the one that wore them out.

It was a simple concept. There was a villain on top of a wall dropping bombs and you were a stack of water buckets at the bottom of the wall. You had to catch the bombs as they were dropped. If you missed one: KABOOM! You started with three buckets stacked and every time you missed a bomb you would lose a bucket. When you missed three total the game was over.

My older brother and I would literally spend hours on this game every night. The instruction manual (a rather hefty one for such a simple game) spoke of a special event that we were obsessed with unlocking.

If you were able to reach the incredible score of 10,000 points the villain, in his acknowledgement of your incredible achievement, would honor you with some mysterious gesture.

My brother and I pounded this game for a long time to get there. Back then, there was no internet, so you couldn't buy the game, run home and hop on line to find out every piece of information you needed or wanted about it. Your gaming "community" was the other kids in your fifth grade class who also had an Atari or who became your sworn enemy because they had the Intellivision console. My older brother was in his 20s, so his gaming community back then was his old high school buddies he still got high with.

Kaboom! gameplay became an art form. There were eight levels. With each advancing level the villain would sweep back and forth across the wall stripping the bombs with greater speed.

Like any repetition-based game you could boil down the first 5 or 6 levels to an art form only missing when you became too complacent. Levels 7 and 8 were the wild cards. To get to 10,000 you would have to cycle through all 8 levels and continue at the crazy-paced level 8 over and over again until you lost. The last two levels were so fast and chaotic that it was nearly impossible to nail down a pattern that gave you a continued 90 plus percent success rate.

There were lots of tricks. Every thousand points, you would get an extra bucket if you were down to less than three. Every time you missed a bomb, the game would revert back and start you at the speed of the previous level. The perfect strategy if you had all three buckets was to deliberately miss the last bomb that would put you over the next 1000 point bonus so you could go back and rack up all the points you could by repeating the previous level knowing that you'd pick that third bucket back up with the first bomb catch of the next wave at a slower speed.

On the odd numbered levels, the villain would strip the bombs close together back and forth across the wall in a pretty simple pattern. On the even levels, he would spread the bomb drops farther apart and throw in an occasional erratic move at the right side of the wall.

The paddle controllers, while precise, also did show a little drag. One of the controllers was just a little better than the other and my brother and I would always have to call dibbs on the "good" one. One of them had a little bit of a jerkier motion while moving your buckets across the screen. In certain spots you could take your fingers off and the buckets would twitch. Sometimes you would hit that spot at a bad moment and even though the effect was minimal it could cause your buckets to twitch away from where you needed to be causing you to miss.

All of these factors were part of our intense study of the game. And for a short period of time it was big part of our night-life. I don't know how many hours, days, weeks, months my brother and I put into the game, but we began to take on a rather defeatist attitude about it after a while with talk like "it's impossible. The 10,000 point barrier can't be reached."

We had spent so much time speculating on what the hell the mystical 10,000 point reward could be that we had built it up to being just about anything up to and including the game cartridge jumping out of the console and giving you hand job on the spot. The smart money was on my brother's speculation that the villain would "tip his hat" to you. Hey, with Atari 2600 graphics a hat tip was a pretty reasonable expectation!

It all came to a head one night. I was pounding through level 8 over and over again approaching 10,000. Finally, I was down to my last water bucket. Almost there! Almost. And then, at 9,998 points, I missed the next bomb. Game Over.

That was the bubble burster and we both pretty much lost our taste for the game. We had both had enough.

We played Atari after that, but Kaboom! was just an occasional joke and we moved on with our gaming lives. This would have been about around 1983.

The story picks up about 12 years later in the mid 1990s. My brother was married and had two kids by this time. I was married but didn't have either of my sons yet. I was unpacking some old junk in my modest apartment and came across my old Atari 2600. It still worked fine, but the TV/GAME converter box didn't work, so I literally took the metal end of the cord that went into the switch box and duct taped it to the metal TV antenna and tuned the TV to channel 3. Don't laugh folks, that worked like a charm back in the channel 3 days of non-cable ready TVs. Crystal clear pic as long as you didn't bump it.

Anyway. Older. Married. College Degree. Full Time Job. It was time revisit Kaboom!

All the time spent on it when I was younger. Man, no way I was going to whip my skills back into shape, but it was worth a shot.

It took about 90 minutes. I don't know what changed all those years later. Night after night. Week after week. Neither me nor my brother could break that 10,000 barrier. Then, without touching it for a dozen years, I played for 90 minutes and hit it.

Now before I finish this story, let me say that if you play this game in one of these collections it's just not the same with a keyboard, XBOX controller or on a Gameboy. It's JUST NOT THE SAME without the paddle controllers.

In any case, at 10,000 points the villain smiles briefly. Normally, he had a simple "V" on his face that was his mouth frowning. At 10,000, the "V" frown turns upside down into a smile.

What a crock of shit.

Wii Fit Vs Regular Exercise - 3 Critical Thoughts on Wii Fit

Can the Wii fit replace regular exercise?.. This is the question many people are wondering when they're about to buy a Wii fit. In this article you will find some of the answers you might have regarding the Wii fit. Is the balance board really worth your money, or is it better to go with a gym subscription?

Not Motivated Enough?

If you're not motivated enough to go out and jog or go to the gym for example, then purchasing a Wii fit can be a good idea. It's much better to do something, rahter than nothing. But don't get the idea that the Wii fit can replace real exercise. Take an aerobics class for example: An aerobic class 3 times per week versus Wii fit aerobics every day is still a big difference. The aerobics class will outperform the Wii fit quite easily. This is because at the aerobics class you will have the "power of the group" so to speak. You will work harder when you see other people working harder. Also, the aerobics exercises on the Wii fit is pretty light in comparison and you don't know if you are doing an exercise the right way.. (Yes you can cheat with a Wii fit).

BMI is a Vague Indicator of Health

The BMI, or Body Mass Index who is used in the Wii fit is actually a very poor indicator of good health. I have a friend who has the perfect body, lots of muscles, and without a trace of fat on his body. According to the BMI he lands somewhere between 26 to 27, and that's overweight according to BMI. And then I have another friend who is pretty tall and have a few pounds of fat on his body. He lands on 23 on the BMI scale and therefore is believed to be in perfect shape. But you can easily tell that there is a big difference in health between the two.

Don't rely on BMI to assess your health. In my eyes it's a very outdated technique to calculate your current health. There are way better techniques to find out if you have a healthy body or not. For example, at the gym were I used to workout there was a type of machine that could measure your body composition. It would tell you both the percent and the actual weight of: fat, water, muscles, and bones. It did this by sending a small electrical current through your body. It was very useful, because you knew exactly what you needed to work on.

Do You Realize That You Are Exercising

A big big plus for the Wii fit is that it removes the sensation that you are exercising. Instead you believe that you are playing a game and are having fun. This can be the difference for many people to exercise or not exercise. If you are having fun. The exercise goes a lot easier and the folks at Nintendo have mad a great job here making Wii fit very fun. However, a few exercises are so easy that I really doubt that they would do any good.

Conclusion

Personally I would save my money and buy a 4 month subscription to my local gym. The benefits are many. I get to meet lots of new people who are trying to get healthier, I can get help from the instructor at the gym if I have any questions, The exercises are more demanding, and I get a pinch of fresh air every time I'm riding my bike to the gym.

But as I stated above, It's better to do something rather than nothing. If my motivation was close to zero, or if I had to rehab myself from an injury, then my choice would probably be a bit different.

The secret success with Wii fit is to not get bored playing the same game over and over. You need new challenges to keep going and new games to try out. There are a handful games that have incorporated the use of the Wii fit balance board, the nunchuk and the Wii remote. They aren't many but a few exists. These games are not 100% weight-loss games. Some are regular games like snowboarding, skateboard, boxing, and cheerleading for example. Here is list of current and newly released Wii fit games.

The best thing you can do is to do something. Remember: Neglecting your body is to be a "No-body", and honoring your body is to be a "some-body
